Frequently asked questions
Do I need an internet connection to play?
No. Zombie Street Survival is fully offline. It never connects to the internet, so you can play on a plane, on the Tube, anywhere.
How do the controls work?
The game is played in landscape.
- Move: the left and right arrow buttons.
- Actions: the diamond of buttons on the other side lets you melee, hold to block, fire your ranged weapon, and cycle weapons.
- Cars and doors: tap the glowing car or door in the world to get in, drive, or enter a house.
You can switch the Fire and Block buttons over to the other side with “Swap Fire / Block sides” in Settings.
Where is my progress saved? Can I move it to a new phone?
Your progress is saved on your device only, in a protected save file inside the app. Because nothing is sent online, there is no cloud copy and no account to sign into. If you restore your iPhone from an iCloud or computer backup, your save normally comes back with it. Deleting the app deletes the save.
How do I unlock new characters and weapons?
You earn XP from every run, and spending it unlocks new characters and weapons. Even if you are killed, you keep the XP, unlocks and achievements you have earned. Unlocks take a while on purpose, so keep playing and you will get there.
How do I reset my progress?
From the home menu, open Settings and tap “Erase all saved data”. It asks you to confirm twice, because erasing progress cannot be undone. (The button is only on the home menu’s Settings, not the in-game pause menu.)
Is there a finish line?
No. Rounds keep coming and keep getting harder. The goal is to beat your best round, your best time, and to work through the achievements list.
Are there any in-app purchases or ads?
No. You pay once on the App Store and that is it. There is nothing to restore because there is nothing to buy inside the game.
The game feels slow or the sound is off
Try these in order: check your device is not in Low Power Mode; make sure the silent switch is off and your volume is up; check the music and effects sliders in Settings; fully close the app and reopen it. If it still happens, email me with your device model and iOS version.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by me. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
I found a bug or have an idea
Please email me. Bug reports and suggestions are very welcome, and a lot of the game has been shaped by player feedback.
